The SKF needle roller thrust bearing is provided with a shaped retainer, which can reliably fix and guide a large number of needle rollers. In one component, the needle has a very small diameter deviation, so that these bearings can withstand heavy axial loads and impact loads. The needle ends are slightly contracted to change the line contact between the roller and the needle. This prevents the peak stress at both ends of the needle, thereby prolonging the service life of the bearing.
